Friday night video: 1980 Fall Preview
I've said it before, but it bears repeating. I love that I can see TV ephemera on YouTube. This particular playlist consists of videos uploaded by user bobcnn. It's ABC's 1980 Fall Preview show. I loved these preview shows; I began formulating my viewing schedules based on them.

Taking another look
I was bummed to read this morning that Michael Crichton had died. At 66, he was still pretty young. While The Andromeda Strain and the Jurassic Park movies will likely get all the mentions in news coverage, we here at Siftin' will pay tribute to Mr. Crichton in our own way.
Please to enjoy our review of Looker, written and directed by Mr. Crichton.

I'm still watching the local returns with a cautious eye, but in terms of the big race:
YES.

OK, so it's not Halloween anymore, but damn...

Unpack your adjectives
Well, we're just about unpacked. I mean, we did the kitchen this morning, I finished unpacking the books yesterday (no mean feat, as we have craptons of them), and the house doesn't look like the U-Haul box showroom so much.
Now, it occurs to me, that it's already November, which also happens to be National Novel Writing Month. As I haven't done any writing, I'd theoretically already be behind. But I think I may skip this year; I didn't make the 50,000-word goal in years past, so I'm thinking I probably wouldn't this year, either.
But if for some reason I have some kind of epiphany on BART tomorrow on the way to work, then I guess I'm back in the game.
